Facet: recycled wool with Italian craftsmanship
The Facet is lightly mélange and we carry it in nineteen colours. This wool upholstery fabric is made from 75% post-consumer recycled wool clothing and 25% polyamide for extra strength.
Production takes place in Italy, which in the world of upholstery fabrics is quite local. The Facet is exceptionally durable with a Martindale rating of 100,000. [1] An LCA is available that measures the environmental impact in all its facets.
Avon: 100% recycled PET with a matte appearance
The Avon is woven from yarns 100% derived from recycled post-consumer PET bottles. The fabrics are 100% polyester, but have a beautiful matte appearance that is hard to tell apart from cotton or wool. [2]
The materials are Italian in origin and the fabrics are woven in Germany. With an abrasion resistance of 80,000 Martindale, the Avon is also very hard-wearing. The Avon also has an LCA available.
What can be better: transparency about the challenges
Fabrics composed of different materials are harder to recycle into a high-quality new product at the end of their lifecycle. Fabrics with synthetic material inevitably release microplastics during use.
